Norwegian Encore misses first stop in Skagway due to medical emergency early in the voyage

Norwegian cruise lines has notified Skagway officials that due to unforeseen circumstances, the will miss Skagway on Aug. 10.

A notice from the Skagway Visitors Department states, “The Norwegian Encore has elected to cancel their call in Skagway on Tuesday and will now call Icy Strait instead. The Encore ended up having to perform a passenger medivac in Canadian waters early today which has severely impacted their itinerary. The Encore’s remaining itinerary will be unchanged, calling Juneau on Wednesday and Ketchikan Thursday.”

The Celebrity Cruise Line’s Millennium is still expected to arrive on Tuesday, Aug. 10.
