When avid sewer and Skagway resident Cindy Simon passed away, she left behind quilt squares that were given to Wendy Anderson for safe keeping. Skagway quilters have joined forces to incorporate Simon’s panels into finished quilts which will be auctioned off to aid the community. The first creation, crafted by Linda Calver, will be auctioned at the Elk’s Solstice Celebration on June 19 to benefit the Skagway Food Bank.
